India, a country that everyone praised after the first coronavirus wave, has now climbed up the ladders for being one of the worst-affected countries. We Indians always feel proud of our numerical achievements; question yourself this time, are you proud now too?

The coronavirus mutated, the economy picked pace, healthcare improved, but we kept on depleting, thanks to the government and public who were head over heels on the INDIAN HEALTHCARE SYSTEM. Now, the heels broke, and heads are gone too!

The rise of coronavirus in India from February 2021 has its own story with many factors and characters, some of them being

  • Test rates
  • Population
  • Fake test results
  • Healthcare collapse
  • Non-availability of resources

If you wish to study some of the factual factor bases stats, read — Factors Affecting the Cases and Deaths of Covid-19 Victims.

Not disclosing the real numbers, the government fooled the already bigger fools — citizens. Thanks to our greed for entertainment, we want to watch the match at the stadium, explore the world, and the mighty citizens who took part in the political rallies; congratulations! We wrecked and collapsed our healthcare system, wherein hospitals denied admissions due to lack of oxygen.

The highest and official number of cases recorded in India on a single day crossed 4,00,00 between May 7–15, 2021. While the most increased death recorded stood at 4,000+ at the same time (source). Without a doubt, the recovery rate was better off than the death rate. Phew! The only ray of hope at that time.

A dire need to arrange the resources, maintain the healthcare system, raise funds to fight the pandemic, and work collectively arose. While these needs kept on rising, we kept on fighting with the help of over 40 countries across the globe. Indian army initiated www.covidresources.in; similarly, many influencers such as Raghav Juyal, who started campaigns to fight for their states, we began to get back on our feet.

INDIA, TOGETHER WE WILL FIGHT THIS!

But let’s be proactive in improving and contributing towards our healthcare systems; let’s not repeat the mistake of ignoring covid protocols; let us leave no stone unturned to be prepared for the third wave in case it arrives. India, it’s time to roll up the sleeves and get vaccinated!

TO ALL THE FRONTLINE WORKERS, A BIG THANK YOU!
